What a world.

“What a world we live in”; it is a phrase I can remember hearing from a young age but it is true, we live in a world where the bounds of humanity are stretched from every angle one can imagine.

Take the first example of the Chilean miners; sixty nine days living half a mile beneath the earth with just thirty-three men keeping you company while on top the families, families and anyone else attached to these brave men who carried on through the ordeal were in the early days without news as to what had happened and if their loved ones were still alive.

I can honestly say I don’t know what I would do if I were in their shoes; before anyone says something, yes prayer would be my port of call. I suppose they may have all been doing that all along but that does not stop our mind and body from reacting to situations we find ourselves in.

We all know the outcome of this story and situation; we are grateful that they are all alive and well after they were rescued from their underground dwelling due to the fantastic efforts from those rescuers who worked on the plans try and reach them.

The next example regards a young child being allowed to run rampant on the interwebs; I am not going to name names as the situation is still on going with this child, but needless to say the parents seemed clueless as to what was going on; sure it is possible sometimes for certain things to pass under the wire, but what happened cannot be dismissed with a simple wave of the hand.

I could not believe the tirade of profanity, threats of violence and worst of it is that this child knew enough to say they hoped people would “get aids and die”; I was dumb struck by that statement.

When it finally came to light the parents acted in a matter that was too little too late, sure some might say “at least the acted”; while that might be true, but this type of situation could have been prevented with just a little common sense and monitoring.

The child in question is now receiving counselling for what they have done, not sure what the parents consequences are but I would hope child services were involved and that if they had any more children that they should all be monitored to make sure a situation like the one they are living through is not repeated again.

Thank goodness there is grace in this world to cover us when we find ourselves needing it most.

I know the stories I covered today are actually coming from two extremes, but I wanted to show that we do indeed live in a diverse world.

Maybe next time we can talk about kittens... haha

Take care readers.
